Rubber Cord Seal

Our Rubber Cord Seal is a flexible, round sealing cord made by extrusion or injection. It bends easily to fit round, oval, or irregular flanges and joints. Cord diameters range from 3 mm to 20 mm, and the equivalent seal diameter can range from 10 mm to 300 mm. Sold by the meter, you cut the exact length required, eliminating inventory waste. Ideal for large-diameter or custom-shaped seals without needing fixed-size parts.

The cord can bend to a radius as small as twice its diameter, allowing it to conform to oval, peanut-shaped, or other non-standard surfaces. End connections can be made in three ways:

1. 45-degree angle cut with adhesive
2. Heat vulcanization for silicone and EPDM
3. Mechanical buckle for resin-type cords

After joining, the connection retains over 80% of its original strength with no air leaks. Rubber materials include silicone, nitrile, fluorosilicone, and EPDM. Resin-type cords operate from -20°C to 90°C.

At 30% compression, the cord provides stable sealing pressure. Compression set under ASTM D395 is below 20% for most rubbers and below 30% for silicone. It can hold 0.5 MPa of air pressure. Working temperature ranges:

• Silicone: -50°C to 200°C
• Nitrile: -40°C to 120°C
• Fluorosilicone: -50°C to 260°C
• EPDM: -50°C to 150°C

Resin-type cords have tensile strength above 40 MPa. Each batch undergoes X-ray inspection per ASTM E505 to ensure no internal voids before machining.
