Unitized Seal

This part is a type of plate nut. Our Unitized Seal combines two functions in a single component: it locks the part in place and seals the penetration point. The metal body is made of high-performance superalloys such as Inconel 718 or A286, with 316L stainless steel also available. The superalloy version withstands temperatures up to 650°C. The metal surface is treated with anodizing, passivation, or chemical oxidation. The rubber element can be silicone, nitrile, fluorosilicone, or EPDM. The assembly fits mounting holes from 3 mm to 100 mm in diameter, with thread sizes ranging from M3 to M30, including UNC and UNF series.

The nut and sealing washer are integrated into one part, saving 40% of space compared to separate components. Assembly time is reduced by 50%, and there is no risk of forgetting the seal. The nut features a self-locking thread design compliant with NAS 679 or ISO 5858 standards. The breakaway-to-tightening torque ratio stays below 0.8. Even after 15 assembly/disassembly cycles, the self-locking function remains reliable, ensuring long-term performance.

The rubber seal maintains up to 1.5 MPa of pressure, forming an air-tight or liquid-tight barrier. Leak rates remain below 1 cc per minute, meeting IP67 protection standards. The metal part is passivated and passes 500 hours of salt spray testing (ASTM B117). Superalloy versions resist high-temperature salt spray cycles. The part also passes NAS 1449 fatigue testing: after 100,000 vibration cycles, there is no cracking or loosening. Ideal for aircraft skin panels and ship bulkheads, this seal is highly durable and reliable.
