Our Rubber Gland Seal is designed for rotating shafts and reciprocating rods. The seal combines stainless steel and rubber to provide reliable sealing under high pressure. The metal body is made of 304 or 316L stainless steel, passivated to resist corrosion. Salt spray testing meets ASTM A967 standards for 500 hours. The seal fits shaft diameters from 3 mm to 60 mm, with rubber ring thickness from 3 to 10 mm. Rubber hardness ranges from Shore A 70 to 85, and the anti-extrusion gap is 0.1–0.15 mm in compliance with ISO 5597 standards. Maximum working pressure reaches 35 MPa (5000 psi).

Adjustable Tightening for Reliable Sealing

 

This packing-style seal features multiple rubber rings. Tightening the gland nut increases seal pressure, allowing adjustment for different working pressures. The anti-extrusion stainless steel ring maintains the gap at 0.1–0.15 mm, preventing rubber extrusion even at 35 MPa. This design ensures safe and reliable operation under demanding conditions.

 

Long-Lasting Performance

 

The rubber material can be silicone, nitrile, fluorosilicone, or EPDM. Fluorosilicone works from -50°C to 260°C and resists fuel, hydraulic oil, and many chemicals. Nitrile rubber can withstand continuous 120°C oil exposure without hardening. When used with a chrome-plated shaft, the dynamic friction coefficient is below 0.3, and with lubrication, it drops below 0.1. Life testing at 21 MPa and 1 m/s linear speed runs for 2000 hours with leakage remaining below 5 drops per hour, meeting ISO 6194 standards.
